Around the holidays a friend of mine asked if I could make her a sign for her new office. I was extremely flattered. My first Sunshine Street “Order”, a proud moment.
Courtney is a licensed psychologist, treating children and adolescents suffering from anxiety disorders. In August 2019, her office exploded. Literally. Exploded. She lost everything. You can read about that here. It was a hard road back to normal, but a few weeks ago she opened the doors to her new office space.
I LOVE the saying she picked and love how it turned out. I can not wait to see it in her new space. Best of Luck Court!
I designed three options on my Cricut, Court and I agreed on our favorite font...
Here is the winner!
The design was cut out of vinyl on my Cricut Maker and laid straight with correct spacing on the painted wood. This is not super easy. Having the vinyl square and measuring before laying the vinyl down were really important.
Rustoleum Chalk Paint in very thin layers over the stencil, first 2 coats of White Linen to prevent seeing bleeds, then in multiple light coats of Charcoal, letting the coats dry in between. The lettering turned out even better than I thought. To seal the product I used Rustoleum Chalk Matte-Clear protectant. I sprayed 3 light coats 10 min apart. Then I let that sit over the long weekend to harden.
Packaged in tissue and ready to go.
A note of appeciation. Having friends trust me to make a special piece brings me joy. My daughter and I took a field trip to drop this at Courtney's house this week. Leaving gifts for friends is super fun!
